  • We are a 10-15 minute walk from both Stanmore and Petersham train stations. There are lots of buses that go up and down Parramatta Road which we are close to a few bus stops.
    There is lots of free street parking around Extra Silky. You will find 1 and 2 hour spots on Charles St and Margaret St and a 3 hour free carpark 100m behind the salon, entrance is on Charles St.

  • Please be sure to wear whatever is comfortable for you to sit for your appointment. We kindly request that you do not wear anything too bulky around the neck like a turtleneck or hoodie, due to needing that area to be free for cutting and colouring.

    Please do not wear your best clothes or anything light coloured if you are having a colour done, as well as wearing black and having a bleaching service. Cleanliness and neatness when colouring is of utmost importance in our salon but accidents can happen. Extra Silky takes no responsibility for marked clothing while in store.

  • We appreciate that things can come up in life which can make you late. We kindly request that you let us know the estimated time of your arrival via text or call to 0400026423 as soon as you are on your way. We will endeavour to do the appointment you have booked, however adjustments may need to be made depending how late you are, as we cannot run late for the remainder of the day.

  • That’s ok! We offer colour consultations to have an in depth chat with you about your hair goals, what you have on your hair and what might be achievable.

    Consultations are $50 and go for 30 minutes. We will also do a strand test to determine the integrity of your hair and if we are able to do further colour services on it.

    A consultation does not guarantee that we are able to move forward with a colour appointment if your strand test does not have a successful testing.

  • We are a wheelchair accessible salon. There is a small step at the salon doors coming inside and very slight incline from Charles St (closest parking) to salon. Please let us know in advance if you would like someone to meet you and assist you. Unfortunately our toilet facilities are not accessible.

    We are open to you bringing anything you need to your appointment to make your visit more comfortable! Ear plugs, laptop and in ear headphones to watch something or if you would like a silent appointment that is fine too! We are here to make your haircut an enjoyable experience.

  • We are welcoming to those clients who prefer a silent service during their cut and/or colour outside of your essential hair consultation and hair questions thereafter. If booking online, please just write it in the booking notes or you can just let us know via text prior to your appointment, so we can note it down on our system.

  • We are a busy salon that books out months in advance very quickly. Because of this, we send out a reminder text 72 hours before your appointment, in case you need to reschedule before 48 hours.

    We understand things come up so you may reschedule anytime up to 48 hours before appointment without a fee and your deposit will be moved to the next booking.

    Any appointments cancelled or rescheduled within 48 hours of your appointment will be charged 50% of the service you have booked. The best way to do this is by sending us a text message, insta message @extrasilky or reply to your reminder text number which goes to our salon software.

  • Your deposit is redeemable at time of service and is still valid for your next visit if rescheduled before 48 hours of your appointment.

    If you cancel at any time, the deposit will remain on file until you are able to come back and is non refundable, even if you cancel before 48 hours.

    If cancelling within 48hrs, there will be a loss of deposit and the remaining fee of 50% of what was booked. Please consider this when booking and we thank you for your understanding.
